Administrative Coordinator

Position Description

Black Eco Bloom is looking to add an Administrative Coordinator volunteer to our team.  Eco Bloom is a new sustainable development organization that focuses on supporting individuals who identify with the Black woman experience in their journeys in the environmental sector in Canada and abroad. We want to create a space that nurtures Black women, Black transgender women, and Black non-binary individuals to be leaders in the environmental sector. Our volunteers will gain experience in a startup environment and contribute to the growth of the organization. 


About the role:

 

The administrative coordinator volunteer is responsible for supporting the organization's workflow across various teams. 

The administrative coordinator will oversee “Office” Management. Although Black Eco Bloom operates completely virtually, “office” tasks such as communications, people, information, and financial management still exist. This volunteer will ultimately provide admin support to other volunteers & organization leadership.

Essential Responsibilities: 

 

  • Communications:

    • Managing BEBs email account, webpage form submissions

  • People Management:

    • Collecting & managing volunteer information

  • Keeping volunteer onboarding documents up to date (volunteer contract, volunteer policy)

    • Assisting or facilitating onboarding tasks

  • Information & Data

    • Organizing/maintaining BEBs calendar & scheduling

    • Managing BEBs team workspace platform (Notion)

  • Financial

    • Keeping track of BEBs expenses

 

Essential Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience in an administrative capacity

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work in a completely remote environment & maintain regular communication with the team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently & collaboratively

  • Knowledge of Google Suite

  • Ability to work autonomously

Nice To Have’s:

  • 2+ years in an Administrative Assistant or Office Manager position

  • Non-profit experience

  • Experience working in an environmental justice organization

  • Knowledge of anti-racist/anti-colonial principles

  • Experience working with Notion

  • Diploma/Certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, HR training, or other relevant education
