How Your Support Helps

COP27

As a first step, we’re focused on creating presence for our organization at The 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27). Donations will cover travel and event costs for (2) Black, Canadian women from the BEB Team to attend the conference. We also plan to host an event for BIPOC delegates from the global community at COP27.

Projects & Programs

We are actively developing our programming for years to come. This year, we’ll launch a series of change-making projects centered around the awareness, access, and activation of our communities within the environmental domain. Projects include Climate Change from a Black Perspective, Black Women in the Environment Mentoring program (Coming soon) a Capacity Building program, and more.

BEB Operations

Our organization could not exist without the ongoing support of our 100% volunteer-run team and the tools that connect us to our communities and the world in a meaningful way. Donations will be used to acquire and maintain our tools, facilitate team building for our global team and maintain the digital properties that are vital to our success.

Our Story

Untitled design (3).png

Co-founded by Leila Cantave & Tyjana Connolly, Black Eco Bloom (BEB) is a grassroots sustainable development organization that uses an intersectional approach to support the resilience of Black communities to climate change with a focus on supporting Black women, Black transgender women, and Black non-binary individuals in the environmental sector through education, mentorship, training and skill development, and green sector-specific knowledge. Through Black women-led climate action, BEB aims to make the world a more sustainable place.

Black Eco Bloom was started to support sustainable & just development in Black communities around the world. Locally, we know that the voices of Black Canadians of all genders are often missing from the climate crisis discourse, even though we tend to be disproportionately impacted by environmental disasters, both globally and here in Canada. But we’re trying to fix that, and we can’t do it without your help!
