
Events Coordinator & Support Volunteers (2-3)
Position Description
Black Eco Bloom (BEB) is a new sustainable development organization that focuses on supporting individuals who identify with the Black woman experience in their journeys in the environmental sector in Canada and abroad. We want to create a space that nurtures Black women, Black transgender women and Black non-binary individuals to be leaders in the environmental sector.
About the role:
Black Eco Bloom (BEB) is currently recruiting 2 to 3 volunteers to support our Events planning team. We are looking for 2 Events Coordinators to work with our Outreach lead on planning, facilitating and managing our upcoming events. We are looking for 1 Event Support volunteer to support event planning tasks.
Event Coordinators & Support volunteers will be responsible for planning and executing all tasks related to hosting events for BEB. Both positions are flexible and dependent on the events we have upcoming.

Essential Responsibilities:

Planning & assisting in the facilitation of events as they come

More casual position, participation requirements increase as events are proposed

Responsible for creating event/campaign plans, budgets, promotional plans and task lists

Fundraising for event budgets & finding event sponsors

Creating event timelines & tasks
-
Working with Outreach Lead on promotion, event sponsors, speakers etc.

The Event Support Volunteer will support with these tasks
Essential Qualifications:
-
Previous experience in event planning for a non-profit

Previous experience with community outreach
-
Excellent organization skills
-
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Ability to work in a completely remote environment & maintain regular communication with the team

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently & collaboratively

Ability to work autonomously
-
Knowledge of fundraising & procurement tactics
Nice to have’s:
-
1+ year of experience in an Organizer, Community Outreach or Event Planning role
-
Non-profit experience
-
Experience working in an environmental justice organization
-
Knowledge of anti-racist/anti-colonial principles
-
Experience working with Notion
