
Marketing & Social Media Lead Volunteer
Position Description
Black Eco Bloom is looking to add a Marketing & Social Media Lead to our Marketing and Communications team. Black Eco Bloom is a new sustainable development organization that focuses on supporting individuals who identify with the Black woman experience in their journeys in the environmental sector in Canada and abroad. We want to create a space that nurtures Black women, Black transgender women and Black non-binary individuals to be leaders in the environmental sector. Our volunteers will gain experience in a startup environment and contribute to the growth of the organization.
The role of the Marketing & Social Media Lead will primarily be to manage social media platforms and support the development of the organization’s online presence. This role works closely with the Communications Lead volunteer.
Essential Responsibilities:

Manage social media platforms

Creating posts, posting and updates

Engaging with the audience
-
Following brand guidelines
-
Following a social media calendar
-

Co-creating a social media strategy with co-directors and communications lead
-
Assist in developing strategies to boost follower count and engagement

Assist in social media advertising and promotional campaigns

Qualifications:
-
Previous experience as a social media volunteer, coordinator or manager is an asset

Previous experience or knowledge of social media development

Knowledge and understanding of graphic design platforms such as Canva
-
Great understanding of social media platforms
-
Familiarity with social media and marketing strategies and ability to create attractive and engaging content

Engaging written and visual communication skills

Some knowledge of SDGs is an asset

Previous experience coordinating social media in a sustainable or environmentally focused role

Knowledge of SEO analytics, google ads and/or other marketing strategies is an asset

Previous experience working in a non-profit and/or start up environment is an asset
